I'm glad they did away with midnight buffets

DW and I were looking back at our old cruise pictures and couldn't believe how FAT I was on some of the cruises! Above photo is is what those buffets did to me from 2001-2008 Took me a whole year of starving myself to get back to normal Yes, they are both me. Over Eating 4 times a day will kill you!

LOL Gene. Eating at midnight is a sinful thing anyway. I don't miss those at all. It really was a horrible waste of food. I did like to go to the Chocolate Midnight thing but really just to look. Oh and maybe a little plate of 3 or 4 things.

We skipped the last midnight buffet on Celebrity. Our previous cruise on HAL had a horrible buffet - pretty to look at but almost inedible.

Great before and after pix, Gene!

Not only do you look better but I'll bet you feel a lot better, too.

Wow Gene CongratulationsYou look fantastic, a very difficult thing to do. I don't miss them either, and the worst part, all that food right before bed
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

    Gene, you're looking good!

Once a while back we were on a HAL ship that had the Midmight Buffet at 11 o'clock so it wouldn't be too late ....

There was many a cruise that I gained so much weight that my tux wouldn't fit by the 2nd formal night. I think I have an eating disorder. It is nothing for me to consume 10,000-15,000 calories a day on a cruise. I remember one time I ordered (and consumed) Three prime rib dinners and five deserts in the mdr, and STILL pigged out six hours latter at the midnight buffet!

I, for one, am really proud of you. It took an amazing amount of will power to lose the weight and control it. You gave your wife a loving husband for many more years

Gene, that's amazing! Good for you!

I have never been to one...just too tired to make it up there even though I would like to go once just to see what it's all about.

    Gene -- you look wonderful.

Guess you are avoiding HAL's "snacks" from 11:30 - 12:30 at night.
