    Smile Gym on ships

Yes, the newer ships have better facilities and the Miracle and CB both had the gym forward so you could see where you are headed. They also had tv's, I would try to find some news so I could keep up on current events and get exercise. I exercise as a way to offset all the food I'm eating. I guess I could eat less, but what fun would that be?

My one problem with a ship's gym is when everyone seems to be in there, and you can't get on a treadmill.

(Well, my other problem is the idea of exercising)

Both the Crown Princess and the Caribbean Princess had great gyms. Lots of cardio equipment. Never had to wait for anything!

Yes, that's if you want to.

We like the one on P&O Arcadia, average to good BUT adjoining the spa /gym is the hydropool for after!!
The equipment is updated after a number of years, don't recall how many. Maybe P&O do not update their older ships' equipment. Living here in S. Florida, we sometimes see tractor- trailers on the highways with old cruise line gym equip't. leaving the port.

Dear God. Please command ship designers to establish emergency martini stations within 50 feet of every exercise station.

The best gym I've seen so far of the ships I've cruised and toured is the Norwegian Epic. Even at the busiest of times, there was always a treadmill available. Their free weights area is a little small, but it was big enough as it never got crowded there.
