I have another reason to avoid them. On our first cruise aboard Carnival's Fantasy we attend the "Newly Wed Game". The CD asked a newly wed, "Where is the stangest place you ever did it?". Yup the answer was "On the Fantasy, in the hot tub". I remember that on every cruise when walking by the hot tubs.

I try not to get too grossed out by that kind of thing. I figure "how do you ever build immunity to anything if you never get exposure to anything?" So yeah, we use the hot tubs because if we didn't, we'd never get to use a hot tub. We'll never be able to put one in at home. Even when we have money for that sort of thing, we can never get anyone to come do the work (long story). We do, however, tend to use the outdoor hot tubs at night when no one else is around. If anyone else shows up, we're outta there.

Every single cruise, I write something on my comment card about babies and toddlers in the pool. Doesn't seem to do any good . . . Maybe if more people made it a point to comment back on that, it would help.

The only time we ever use them is when we're on Holland America during the off-season and there are no kids onboard. Then we'll only use the adult-only spa-area tubs that are hardly used. Having a hot tub in our back yard, we can appreciate the problems and the benefits. We just make sure we take a good shower afterwards and have never had any problems. Just like going swimming in a swimming pool.

I've never used the hot tub on any cruises I've been on, just because I never had the urge. Now I have plenty more reason to avoid them! Yuck!

Nope, never have and never will

My Signature Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

I generally avoid hot tubs other than my own as I know 1st hand how difficult to is to maintain water quality without having to resort to chemical warfare. BUT, I will admit to using the adult hot tubs on the Serenity deck on the Imagination. Mind you it was 1st thing in the morning and they had the water so hot that you could have sterilized medical instruments in it............
