kcurrin .... First of All: Welcome to CLF! Great to have you as a part of this very friendly cruise-loving group!

I've noticed your suggestion is followed by many on cruises. Basically, whatever works for each person.

My doctor complained a couple of cruises ago that my weight gain was due to being on the cruise. So the next one, I tried to be good in working out before the cruise. We used the stairs as much as possible. I would try to have at least two salads a day (I don't use salad dressing so that helps). Sometimes a salad in the mid-afternoon. Often selected the low-fat and sugar free options whenever possilbe. I did go to the gym (maybe once of twice ) and we would take advantage of the jogging track for some nice walks.

When I got back, I had a doctor's appt. a few days later. My weight was about the same as a couple of months before.

But some cruiselines are better than others at having organized activities (physical activities as well as seminars) aimed at helping cruisers keep from gaining a ton on their vacation.
I wondered about this, and the question about Celebrity as well. I am wondering if when the article mentioned Carnival Royal Caribbean, they meant all the lines owned by those companies. That would then add Princess, HAL, Cunard, Seaborn and Celebrity and Azamara to the mix, for US based lines.

I'm positive that all those lines have healthy alternatives for meals, and they all have spas managed by the same company - Steiner.
