Back to back cruising

written by Baw079 posted on 19/04/13

We travelled to the Caribbean to complete east & west back to back cruises. We felt travelling that distance for seven nights would not give us time to recover from jet lag, and so it was.

We were on deck eleven at the rear starboard side of the ship. The cabin was one of the largest we have had and we always get an outside cabin with balcony. There was plenty of room and the cabin was well maintained and immaculate. A lot depends on your cabin attendant and ours was "Beverly Andrews" who was by far the best steward we have had on any ship.

There is such a choice of entertainment and activities on board we were never stuck for something to do. The shows were simply outstanding from the aqua theatre to the main theatre. A well chosen variety of shows, unlike some cruise lines.

The variety of dining rooms was outstanding and although some of the speciality restaurants incurred a small fee, it was well with the money.

We were selective with choosing our excursions but our favourites were the katamaran trip to Sandbar Island in Haiti and swimming with the dolphins/climbing Dunns falls in Jamaica.

Regarding doing back to back cruises, we had some unexpected surprises courtesy of Royal Caribbean. Although we had to get off at Ft Lauderdale, we did not have to pack/unpack. We simply left and went shopping to Ross's at a nearby mall. Fantastic prices although we spent a fortune...

On returning to the ship we did not wait in the queues with others who were joining the ship. We were cleared on board immediately. Once on board we were treated to a free meal in Giovani's table. Additionally, we were allowed to have laundry cleaned free of charge and were not required to wait in a queue at the main dinning room despite being any time dining.

All in all, this ship is absolutely fantastic. While we expected to be waiting in a variety of queues we only ever stood in one, which was our own fault. The staff have everything running and working to a 'T'.

We go back on Indepence of the Seas during October, but truthfully, we wish we. We're going back on the Oasis.

Love the Oasis!

My husband and I had this booked for months and he was laid off in October. We decided to go ahead and take the cruise to try to clear our heads and figure out what steps we take next. This was our second time on the Oasis. Our cabin (balcony, Deck ...

Oasis of the Seas - Itself a Destination

Although the sheer size of the ship intimidates many passengers, I absolutely loved all the extra amenities and options. The Oasis is so massive that it feels like you are at a large hotel or resort rather than on a ship. We never felt the movement o...

Oasis of the Seas Thanksgiving Cruise

CABINS The best cabin I've ever had on any cruise ship, period! We had a balcony room (10278) which had the good layout with the bed by the balcony door so we had plenty of room to access our closet. The bathroom is well laid out and felt spacious, an...

Oasis "on" the Seas

Last year, we had the pleasure of sailing on the Oasis of the Seas. The rooms were a tad smaller than on the rest of the line, but just as nice. We typically have a Junior Suite, but had a balcony superior on this cruise. The food was great and you had...

Awesome Ship

We were lucky enough to go on the Inaugural Cruise year on May 1st to 7th to the Eastern Caribbean and on the Inaugural Cruise to the Western Caribbean from May 8th to 15th, 1010. It was an experience we won't soon forget because of the size and ameni...
