Halloween cruise

written by ladyblu90 posted on 02/12/11

We sailed the Halloween cruise out of Baltimore. Embarkation was a little different than usual, but went smoothly. When pulling up to the terminal, they take your luggage prior to parking, so make sure that you have your passport and sea pass paperwork handy. Parking went quite well as you pay first when you are still in line. Once inside the terminal, there weren't any priority departure lines for suite or Diamond Plus. Nonetheless, the lines did go quickly and we were onboard in no time.

Arrived at our cabin and even though the ship is older, the cabin was spotless and we had a wonderful Houseperson named Sondra. She definitely made our stay comfortable. We felt like we were "at home". No problems with the dining staff. Our waitstaff was very attentive, as expected.

The trip into Bermuda was uneventful. We relied on the ferry/bus service to travel into Hamilton. You can buy an all day ticket ($12 adult, $7 for children) which was well worth it. A word to the wise, we didn't know that all the stores in Bermuda close at 5PM. So if you are looking to shop, you may want to get there early. Regret not getting to the fort or the Clock Tower. The sea port is very clean and well kept. We did take the horse and carriage ride ($50 for two adults). The driver was very informative, filling us in on little know facts about the country.

Onboard, the health facilities were very clean and well maintained. Only problem, husband's treadmill blew a fuse. We missed the mini-golf course that is usually on the RCL ships. The Halloween party was the highlight of the cruise. I managed to get my husband into a costume and we both had a fun filled evening. You were invited to wear your costume in the MDR at dinner.

We had one of the easiest debarkations ever. Being suite guests, our luggage tags were called early. We remained in the cabin. When we exited, we found that the suite luggage is kept in a separate area, which was nearly empty when we left. Only problem, could not find luggage assistance in that area. No lines getting out of the parking lot due to the pre-pay when we checked in.

Oasis "on" the Seas

Last year, we had the pleasure of sailing on the Oasis of the Seas. The rooms were a tad smaller than on the rest of the line, but just as nice. We typically have a Junior Suite, but had a balcony superior on this cruise. The food was great and you had...

Enchantment ON the Seas

Our party had a couple of cabins on the enchantment of the seas across all cabin types and were satisfied with the staterooms. They were better than other cruise lines (Carnival), but not mind=blowing. Being in an interior we didn't spend much time in ...
