We were on the Millennium for two five day B2B cruises from Oct 31 ? Nov 5 and from Nov 5 to Nov 10. This review is about the second cruise (and you can see a complete write up with pictures at http://www.cruiselinefans.com/live-cruise/58027-live-millennium-western-caribbean.html
The cruise was fantastic. Even if the Millennium is one of Celebrity?s older ships and getting ready to be ?Solsticized? next year, she is still in very good condition. I detected very little real wear and tear anywhere on the ship.
Food was typical Celebrity ? very good. We ate in the main dining room every night at the 6 PM seating. Service was excellent and food choices were broad. My only problem was that I was not as daring on the second cruise as I was on the first. I duplicated many of the selections of the first cruise since I liked them so much. I especially liked the cold soups and had them every night that I could. One hint, you can have BOTH a salad and a soup. Several of us at the table did . There was one formal night and everyone dressed up for it. Only about 20% of the men were in tuxes, but everyone was in at least a suit coat. Our seating was a bit of a disappointment. The first night we were at a table for 8 but there was a major problem with seating. Only 3 other people were with us and they were supposed to be with a large group. We lost them the second night. We informed the head waiter about the problem and they promised us that we would be getting more people. It turned into a game of musical chairs. The second night we had two other couples, two ladies from Columbia and two brothers from Canada. The brothers had been totally misinformed by Celebrity and had only brought along casual outfits (They ended up going shopping in Jamaica for clothes?..). Anyway, the head waiter loaned them jackets for the formal night. The next night the two women were not there, but we gained a couple who were in open seating. Night four and five we had all four couples and us. Not quite what were were expecting but it worked.
Entertainment was very good. There were two big production nights. We skipped the first show iBroadway since we had just seen it five days before. We were surprised that the second show did not repeat the one on the first cruise. Instead, we had a different show Simply Ballroom. The dancing numbers in the second show were amazing and the costuming was incredible. This was opening night for the cast. A few rough edges but they were understandable and did not detract from the show. We also had a comic and a juggler ? different from the first cruise. The juggler was good ? better than the first juggler. The comic was very funny.
Other entertainment duplicated that of the first cruise We did have a greater opportunity to meet Justin the guitarist and Carlos, the piano player in Michael?s Pub. We missed Carlos on the first cruise but heard him playing between the two cruises and crashed his performances every night after that. It might have been partially due to the fact that he had my wife sing every night.
I am a very picky in the rating department. I never give a perfect score for anything. With that said, this was not a Crystal or Seaborne cruise (which would have gotten a 5). On the other hand, it was not a $4000 per person cruise, either. It was a very good cruise at a very good price. Doing a back to back made it even more special- we were able to really meet the crew and the performers. Celebrity more than met our expectations and we had a wonderful time.
So much for the quick synopsis. Go to the live from for the whole story??

Cruise from Hell - Holland America NoordamThis was the cruise from hell. Between abysmal customer service, Noro virus, and an exploding ship supplied hair dryer which gave me second degree burns, the cruise went from mediocre to horrendous. More details follow...... Actually, let me j...
Century 1/25/10Phenomenal short cruise to Key West and Cozumel. Staff was exemplary. We told them it was our 25th wedding anniversary and they treated us like royalty. Only problem - specialty dining filled up before we got a chance to book it.

Another great Alaska CruiseWe flew in the day of the Cruise. Our day started at 3:30 AM, so by the time we got to San Diego we were tired already. There were two ships boarding at the same time which made going thru security rather slow with a long line. This took between 45 Min...
