VICTORY again!

written by Aplmac posted on 02/03/11

This our fifth cruise was a private charter cruise, catering mainly to Barbados island-residents -a whole bunch of us!!

We were already familiar with the ship, since cruise number four was also on Victory, so it was a matter of stepping on board and picking up right where we left off, last time - a good feeling.

We did this one with newbie cruisers Lee and Margaret, and it was good for them that they had us along to show them the right ropes, right away.

I booked Cabin 6207 which turned out to be an extraordinarily-roomy balcony cabin, due to the fact it is designed for wheelchair people --a fortunate stroke of luck!

On the minus side, this cabin was as far forward as is possible (check the deck plans for Deck 6) and we were right over where the bow slices the waves!

As a result of that position, we felt some motion on the way back up-weather to Barbados, but not at any other time. We also heard the whine of the bow-thrusters when docking and leaving ports, but that's kinda cool for a guy who likes systems and how they work *wink*

Seeing as we were so far forward, this gave me easy access to Victory's small "secret/unknown" bow decks where I got many neat pics while underway.

Our ports of call were few: Antigua and Sint Maarten, both enjoyable -especially SXM where we went over to MARIGOT on the French side, which delights my wife. Happy Wife = Happy Life, right? -OK.

Again I say...Victory is a comfortable ship: you'd like it.

Food on board is OK -not gastronomique, but certainly OK and I have no complaints other than the Pizza on board coulda used some upgrading quality-wise, but I'm nit-picking here..

We're looking forward to being on board yet again, in a short while!!

LOVE Princess Cruises!

by Aplmac

This cruise was not your regular 1 week cruise on Caribbean Princess. It was a quick 3 nights/4 days charter cruise out of Barbados, a cruise populated mainly by us island residents. We were assigned Ocean View Cabin P241, and were very happy with it...
