We book this same cruis one year ago, but the swine flu took us north then, this time it was to Mexico...
We went 2 nights early to meet up with some of our cruise familys from other cruises for dinner and chat together... We stayed at Double Tree Inn in San Pedro, very good priced and clean as a whistle... Nothing fancy but great service and clean...Free WIFI in lobby ... It was great to find out we could get a rental in Long Beach airport and drop it off at Double Tree Inn... Thats a great perk... We did dinner at Yardhouse and at Rock Bottom, both are fine places to have a good meal and not give up your wallet or do dishes.... Food was really great .... but the company was even better... Thanks to Mama Pat, Gary, Ernie, and Bev for joining us for two days before cruise....
Cruise day, we boarded the ship after a long wait because them computer cameras broke down again... so we stood in line about 70 mns... but then finally got boarded and off to cabin to drop off carry on's and do lunch at Windjammer... There was lots to choose from but something cold and wet was in my likings... So Big glass of Ice Tea and nice salad and fruit was on my plate... Then it was back to room to get my door decorations up..
I have printed out ships of all my cruises with details of ship, places and dates on each one of them magnets I made for each cruise I have taken.. So I just keep adding each cruise to add to my door... Our cabin was a handicap cabin with balcony. This was a extra large cabin and very extra large bathroom. And even a phone in bathroom incase of any emerancys... The cabin not only had a couch, but also a seating chair ... But they still don't have the flat screen TV on Mariner yet... And she is showing some wear and tear... but knowing she is leaving the west coast, bettcha she'll be going for overhaul before to much longer...
We had a very nice dinner table, 416 by the window on Hats and Tails level...(deck 4 ) it was table for 6 so we had another couple who joined our party of four... As My son Larry & Dil Neeve was with us... it worked out perfect, lots of laughs and good dinner chats nightly... The food was just about the same as always ... scale of 1-10 Rccl gets a 9 with me... Our waiter and drink server was on the ball... Working hard to keep us happy and they did a fine job... Our cabin attendant was Sheradon, He was right on top of everything... I wanted to take him home... Anything I requested he did it... and remember to do it always for me...
Cabo was my day with my son, we booked the Underwater scooters ... if you have never done them, and you want to see the ocean life it is a must do... We had the most wonderful time... They took us out about one hour away from port, and in a cove area, and down we went on motor scooters... we were about 50 feet down, and what a great time we had...
Second port was Mazatlan, we only did the shops by pier, and boyfriend picked up my birthday gift there.. He got me a fabulous Fire Opal bracklet... Yes, my birthday is October, and it good luck to wear fire opals if your a Oct birth kid..And yes my new fire opals did bring me luck, I won $152.00 at bingo one day, and I won in casino a few times... Enough that I even came home with travel checks I took to spend.. What a deal Uh...
Last stop was Puerta Vallarta.. Hot Hot Hot, to dang hot the day we hit port.. by noonish it was over 100 degrees and humitiy was over 97 % ... so ship a/c was the rest of our day .... pool day for sure .... We did many of the shows, and the Ice Show, we enjoyed them.... We did bingo twice and casino alot.. We did do lots of relaxing on balcony and playing on our computers in a/c cabin.... The trip was worth the money we spent and we did get some good relaxation plus lots of fun time... Good not to over do and not really get to enjoy vacation as a vacation.. That was our plan this sailing... The only sad times was so many of us on West coast waited so long for a bigger ship, and we finally got one, and they are taking her across the pond... so many were sad about that, and it show'd at many affairs that were offered to us.... Some people had tears when talking about the ship leaving.. Capt Per even looked sad for them.. We did get to do a open chat with Capt Per and a back stage tour, it was fun... Capt Per is a very open guy and loves chat with cruisers.. We like that ...
Ok if you want to sail on Marine before she leaves the west coast, better get your booking made... as she'll be leaving in Jan I think... I will close with one thought in mind.... It was a nice relaxing vacation and thanks to Rccl I will enjoy another cruise with them in my future.. My Vacation was a vacation... and loved every minute of it..

Onboard Activities On Mariner of the Seas, you are never going to run out things to do. Due to the ship?s size, Royal Caribbean was able to pack in many more amenities onboard Mariner than her previous sisters. On deck 3, Studio B, the ice skating r...
What has happened to Royal Caribbean?Price to value received has continued to decrease since I cruised on Explorers of the Seas Oct. 2011. Customer Service and Vacations to Go continue to play "blame Game".
Mariner of the Seas - MediterraneanCivitavecchia We started in the Port of Rome, Civitavecchia. We had two days to get here from Venice to the port. The city is nice but nothing special it is an industrial city. It has been a good place to restock necessary supplies otherwise not a ...
BOB'S LIMOS SUCKNEVER use bob's limos in Rome. They don't show up, and then bill you anyway. When you contest the billing, they make you go through the hassle of trying to prove they didn't show up. So if you want unreliable, lying limo service, book bob's limos.
bad experienceOn 1/16/11 my husband and I boarded the Royal Caribbean ship named the Mariner of the seas for a 17 day tour from Los Angeles to Chile, First I would like to say we scheduled all our plans through Royal Caribbean including flights to make certain all ...
