Despite the name, you are as likely to find one of Royal Caribbean's luxury cruise ships in Holland, Hong Kong or Honolulu as in the Caribbean.
These are some of the world's largest ships, with new records for size being broken almost annually. The vast spaces are used to provide spectacular facilities, such as golf courses, ice rinks and climbing walls, not to mention the first onboard surf-simulators.
For those who prefer to exercise more sedately, the Vitality Wellness Program runs workshops on board. Other less strenuous activities include a Mystery Dinner Theatre, in which fine wine and cuisine combine with a murder mystery play where the audience is the detective.
Cruises are family-oriented, and customer loyalty is a priority. Membership of the Crown and Anchor Society is automatic after a single cruise, with extra loyalty benefits being awarded after 5, 10 and 24 cruises.
