Viking River Cruises
Like her identical twin ship the Century Sky, the Viking Century Sun is in the vanguard of river-cruising excellence. A 5-star vessel, it exudes luxury in all quarters, with roomy and opulent cabins and elegant interiors.
Unusually for a river cruise ship, the Century sun can allocate a member of staff for every 2 guests (and still leave a few idle!). Many of the crew are local and can bring great insight into the fascinating destinations on offer, although they all speak English. In addition, specialist speakers are invited onboard to give talks on places visited on the cruise.
The atmosphere is quiet and sophisticated. Dining is generally a choice between Chinese and European cuisine. Entertainment is not a high priority but there are occasional performances by musicians from areas local to the cruise ports.
