Best Cruise Line Operating in Hawaii?

    Hi,

I'm just doing a bit of research and I just wanted to find out what peoples opinions are on the different cruise lines that service the hawaiian Islands? and which one you think offers the best hawaiin cruise package overall?

I've also included a poll for the major cruise lines. I Appreciate your comments.

Sorry I couldn't vote on your pole.

I voted for Princess just because I went on the Island Princess for this cruise.

You currently have a few choices if you want a Hawaiian cruise.

Round trip from the west coast. Princess, HAL, Celebrity (and other lines on occasion) go from Los Angeles or San Diego between late September and early May. You have 4 or 5 sea days, then the time in Hawaii, then 4 or 5 sea days, with a stop in Ensenada (because of the PVSA Act).

One way to or from the west coast. Often from Ensenada or Vancouver (maybe also LA or SD). Carnival does one or two of these and RC also does this sailing between Sept. and May.

There's also the NCLA cruises that start in Honolulu, and visit other Hawaiian ports, before returning to Honolulu. There's just one ship doing this itinerary right now.

At this moment the Customs and Border Protection agency is considering some changes to the PVSA that can severely affect the first type (the RTs). Hopefully, cooler heads will prevail and these will get shot down (even the governors of Hawaii and California, as well as mayors of the US port cities are fighting this).
