Thanks so much for this input about Half Moon Cay. I am writing a short guide to Private Islands and shall include your comments, in re: the BBQ, etc. with a link to this thread.

When we were first at Half Moon back in 01, the BBQ was just mediocre. That is one thing that HAL has done correctly, on our last cruise (08) it was quite good.

And I must say the sand was a sparkling white and very inviting. Now, the shore excursion we took was a waste of time. We were supposed to see the sights of the lagoon but the whole thing was geared to a 10 year old level. Picking up and holding the sea cucumber, spiny starfish, and sea urchin were interesting tidbits but the guide really did not have any meat to add to the presentation.
