We have heard so much about the beautiful sand and water at Half Moon Cay so we are really looking forward to a great beach day.
However, we are thinking about the horseback riding and sting ray excursions also. We have never done either of these. Riding horses around the island and in the ocean sounds fun. So does the stingray swim- we haven't been to Grand Cayman so have never experienced this. Is the stingray swim worth it on Half Moon or should we just wait until we get to Grand Cayman one day?
Anybody done either of these excursions?
Not sure if we should book both and enjoy the beach in between or is that too much to do in one day???...

MY recommendation to you would be to sign up for an early horse ride (so you tender in asap) and then spend the rest of the day on the beach. I did do the sting ray tour and there are a couple dozen rays in an enclosed area. I would highly recommend the horseback riding...my boys just loved it.
Excursions for us on HMC - walk the beach --- if the water is warm -- DH will swim. But most of the time we just love to sit in our favorite spot and have a cocktail.
Sorry - can't tell you all where we like to hang out - then it would get crowded!!

I got an 8:30 time for horseback riding so we'll get an early tender. Then at 10:00 when it's over, we'll have the rest of the day to enjoy the beautiful island... (and of course to try and find Krazy Kruiser's secret hangout.)

It'll give you plenty of time on the beach and you'll get to horseback ride too!! It's really one of my favorite places, so laid back and beautiful. The sand is very fine, and feels so good between your toes. :happy: :happy:
We always try to take a stroll down the beach, it's so quiet and peaceful over on the far side of the beach. The BBQ lunch at the Pavillion is always a treat too. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have every time I've been there.

What do you consider the far side of the beach. Is it the part past the cabanas or on the other side of the island?
