    Have you been to Grenada?

Have you been to Grenada? If so, do you wish to return? If not, would you like to go?

Grenada, the Isle of Spice, is a very interesting place to visit. Unfortunately, most cruises don't stop long enough to see both the northern side of the island and the southern side during the same visit. Both offer different things to see and do. But it's a very diverse island with lots to see and do.

So, yes, I would definitely visit it again.

Prerttiest harbour you could wish to see, big market up the back (uphill!) I find the spice /nutmeg/cocoa tours mind numbingly tedious. The Grand Etang lake are & interesting & yes I agre with the last poster that the Northern parts are seldom seen by cruisers

A very gloomy and dismal sight when we arrived just days after an hurricane. Houses, schools and churches all had roofs missing. An idyllic place to live, then a high price when weather turns foul. It was a Monday morning, people going to work, and you could still see the state of shock in their faces. Really sad.

Had a cab that took us around the island, first stop was at the back of the Cricket ground, taxi driver showed us a pick up, it looked in perfect condition. Told to get out of the cab and have a closer look, complete shock it was squashed completely. Travelling around the island devastation was terrible

Enjoyed the Island but would like to see it in more pleasant circumstances. Many people on our cruise were saying we should not have gone, I disagree it brings reality to you and can understand and give sympathy for these dreadful events which happens every year.

We love having port stops in Grenada! It always smells so good there! Love the pretty beaches and the nice warm water. Going back again this February!

We stopped off in Grenada in Nov 2009 and this is one Caribbean island I would love to return to. The people are SO friendly. We went kayaking and the guy who ran the operation grew up just a few miles from our home in Cardiff! Amazing - his parents were from this area and went to live in Grenada and decided that he and his brother were to be educated in the UK , so they sent them to school here. His brother stayed and settled, but he returned to Grenada and now runs a kayaking centre. After kayaking, we took a taxi around the bay and had lunch at a place recommended by the driver. He returned later to take us back to the ship. We are novices and didn't realise that he would have probably preferred to have been hired to take us on a tour. We'll know better on our next trip!
