First odd thing was watching the locals dive for coins being thrown off the ship.

A quick tender in, we took a taxi for a tour of the island. Only thing I remember was a couple of waterfalls, and a lot of spices.

We always seem to end up going back on the Rhum Runner!

If you enjoy party boats, you'll like it and there is a good beach stop.

If you DON"T like party boats, you'll hate it!

We will be going here in November and I'm really not into party boats so much. So what else is there?

Hanna ... So what sorts of things on shore excursions do you and DH enjoy?

Some new cruise pals (met on cruse) totally enjoyed the Spice Tour that included a drive around the island (very pretty place) ... in addition to the visit to a spice factory.

In February (Grand Princess, like you) ... probably, we're going on that 5-hour catamaran. That might be too much sun for your DH.

Hopefully, others will chime in to help you out!

Lulu, you are right about the sun part for sure. I'm presuming we will probably do something like the spice tour just so we can see a bit of the island. We both like botanical gardens and pretty things, so I guess I will look into something like that for this island.

Hanna .... Grenada will certainly be a great place to do this sort of thing!

It's a lush beautiful island! Also, the locals are very "low-key" and friendly to cruisers.

Once again, Grenada SMELLS as good as looks!

When we were in Grenada on the Ruby in Feb we did the Grenada Explorer tour through the cruiseline. Since we'd never been there before we wanted to see some sites of the Island. Wasn't a tour that we would rave about, but we didn't regret taking it either as we enjoyed getting to see the island. We really enjoyed meeting the people of Grenada and brought back LOTS of different spices. We brought spice necklaces home as gifts and everyone loved them ! Wish we'd bought more. We hung the spice necklaces up in the closet in our cabin until it was time to pack to go home. WOW, did our cabin smell good !!!

Next visit to Grenada we'll spend part of the day at Great Anse Beach and more time wandering around the town that we didnt have time to do on our first visit.

I checked out Virtual Tourist, and one of the things mentioned is a tour of a chocolate factory! YUM! Also, if you want to do something on your own, this company got a good review:

    Their prices look reasonable too.
