Just as you leave the ship there's a terminal mall with a store called something like The Spice Shop or Island Spices ??? with a wide variety of spices.

You may be looking for more than this but that's where we bought ours .... Quick and Easy when you're returning from an excursion.

Hi LuLu thanks for this. will look for it when there in May, have read in all tour books that must bring home some of the spices from there and I love nutmeg !! like to bring home authentic crafts/souvenirs from places, not the klitchy touristy things.

You're so nice! Thanks for asking. Yes, I'll have a report on what we did there ... hopefully, by sometimes next week.

Our favorite gifts to take home from Grenada are those "spice baskets" with a variety of spices ... prices begin at about $3. Especially, like the ones that also include some whole spices with a mini-spice grater. So easy and light weight to carry home ... and they always make our luggage smell good.

We have been in Granada a few times, did the tour once, visited Grand Anse Beach. Nice beach. Taxi boat is right by the pier. When you arrive at beach, you have to get out of the boat in knee-deep water.
Buy spices already in jars. (Bring bubble wrap) The spice necklaces don't really smell much (I have a few in my kitchen). Adorable children sell them, so I couldn't resist!

Don't buy the chocolate balls (for hot chocolate). Unless I did something wrong, they were AWFUL.

Has anyone been to any of the other beaches?

Thanks for the warning on the chocolate balls. I have some from there but haven't used them.... .... and, now, don't think I will!

On our party boat the beach stop was Morne Rough Beach which we thought was very nice. A bit more info on Morne Rough is included in our "Party Cruise & Beach -- Report" posted here. (scroll)

Loved Grenada - just loved it! Went kayaking and the people running the kayak place were SO friendly. In fact the guy who owns it grew up just 6 miles from where we live in Cardiff. His brother still lives there. Also after the kayak trip, we went back to the dock and took a taxi for lunch around the quayside. Yes, the taxi driver recommended it but he was also SO friendly we went with it. We paid him to come back for us after lunch. We have never done this before, but decided to take a chance as the day was going so well. We were having coffee after a delicious lunch when the waitress came to tell us that our taxi driver had returned and was ready whenever we were...........Wished we'd had longer as we felt he could have taken on a great island tour. Will definitely recommend Grenada.

I think the town St. George is charming but I felt a bit of an ''atmosphere'' there. We have done tours & to be honest the nutmeg /spice/cocoa ones are..well..a bit tedious. I doubt if we would go there for a holiday.
