As with many islands down there, there's not alot to do in Grenada other than sightseeing, shopping, or going to the beach.
When you get off the ship, there's a nice mall that has some shopping, so there's no need to go too far away if they don't want to.
When you get out of the mall, there are cabs everywhere ready to take you wherever you want to go, so they don't need to pre-book a sightseeing excursion. Most excursions will take you either to the southern part of the island or the northern part, but usually not both because of limited time. So they need to do their homework and decide what is most important for them to see. There is a really neat fort at the top of the hill not too far from the pier that offers a specatcular view.
The beaches are very nice, but it sounds like they may not be into that.
Not being one that usually recommends cruise line excursions, there is plenty to do on your own as far as sightseeing goes and lots of sightseeing companies available for pre-booking if you want to.
