Grand Anse Beach, Grenada

According to Frommers, Grenada's Grand Anse Beach is one of the Top 10 Ports for Beach Lovers:

Grand Anse Beach, Grenada, Caribbean. The spice island's Grand Anse Beach is one of the best in the Caribbean. The two-mile band of white sand is nice and wide, and the water is calm. With views of St. George's, the main town, looming in the distance, and a handful of restaurants beachside serving up the freshest seafood, curries and fruity frozen drinks, what else do you need? Watersports rentals are available, and the beach is only a 10-minute cab or water taxi ride from the port.

Here's more

Grand Anse Beach is 2 miles of white sand in a sheltered bay, and is a favourite of many visitors. It is heavily featured in advertisements about the island, and several major hotels are located next to it. Grand Anse is considered to be one of the loveliest beaches in the Caribbean. As the beach is on the western (leeward) side of the island, it is usually well sheltered and calm, and is a favourite with locals as well.
Grand Anse beach has a lot to offer, from water sports and scuba diving shops, to the vendors market and several good restaurants. So, if you are looking for a beach with attractions, then this is the one for you.

Available at the beach:
Many Restaurants & Hotels, Small Bars, Water sports & Scuba dive centers, Beach Chair Rentals, Vendors market, easily accessible by bus & water taxis.

Been there, loved it. Waters were not very calm that day, however!

Canarymoon: Thanks for posting this. We are going to Grenada for the 3rd time in as many years next March and we've done the island and spice tours. Do you know if the beach is easy to get to in a taxi - what would a taxi cost to get there?

You are more than welcome.

As to the cose of a taxi, and where to find one - I have no idea... but perhaps someone else will.

Anyone?
