    Tours of Grenada

Grenada isn't a very big island, and tourism is a relatively new thing to the islanders. Much of their economy has been wiped out, either by world trade patterns, or the giant hurricane that hit there a couple of years ago. It's a beautiful island, so it's best to see it, and learn about its history, from a longtime resident. His name is mandoo. His mission is to educate people about Grenada, and educate Grenadians about the world around them. He does lectures at schools, and has been officially recognized by his government for the work he does. If your cruise stops at Grenada, get in touch with him. You'll be glad you did.

It's been 2 years, and he may have changed them by now. It took the best part of the day, and included some beach time.

We toured beautiful Grenada with Mandoo in February 2007. His tour was the best of any we've been on. Mandoo was wonderful, his knowledge and love of his Grenada cannot be described. We saw a beautiful island with stops at a Spice Plantation, Grand Etang /Crater Lake (with monkeys), Rain Forest, and Annandale Waterfalls. At the end of our tour Mandoo offered to take us to the beach which we turned down. The price was $45.00 each. He picked us up in the terminal building at 8:45AM. We returned to the terminal at 1:30PM. There were 10 of us on a bus that would hold 29. Mandoo purchased bananas for everyone with a few left for the monkeys. One other thing , you can have your passport stamped in the terminal building. The window to the right as you enter from the ship.
The cheapest place for the spice necklaces was at the waterfalls.
