I remember the first time I drank Ozzo. In a Greek restaurant in Sacramento. There was a man on the stage who could lift a table with his teeth and balance it on his head after a couple of shots of this stuff. There was music from Zorba the Greek playing in the background. Someone from the restaurant has a goat's bladdder filled with Ozzo. He came to different tables, including ours, and we were give a health dose direct from the bladder. I seem to remember a long dance line. I like it when I am serving Greek cusine.

My advise. Drink it and refill the bottle with something else but don't try the table trick.

Ouzo

TAKE IT FROM A REAL GREEK, THE DRINK IS NOT A CORDIAL, BUT CAN BE USED AS ONE IN THE AFTERNOON. ADD A BIT OF WATER AND ICE, IT WILL GET CLOUDY. SIP IT SLOWLY IT'S VERY POTENT. IT HAS A LICORICE TASTE TO IT. LARS, WHILE YOU MAY HAVE YOUR OPINION IT'S JUST THAT YOUR OPINION........

I LOVE ouzo!

Yes, it's an acquired taste, but if you like licorice and anise you might enjoy it. I have had it many times and never got a headache.

It tastes like strong liquid licorice...and it kicks like pure moonshine.

Don't drive anywhere afterwards!

i've tried both ouzo and raki whitch is the turkish equivalent, but can be found on the dodec islands. i would equate it to a very rough pernod, allthough if you get some small island stuff it can be either very pleasant or paint stripper.
