We will be in Grand Turk on 8-18-08. I will report back as well.

I have read that the Grand Turk Cruise Center is right off the pier and there is a beach area and a huge pool at Margarittaville. This is all w short walk off of the pier.

The cabana rentals through Carnival are 99.00 for the day. They include 4 chairs, a fresh water shower, and a buzzer to call the waiter for your drink and food orders.

I am hoping for good weather and I am looking forward to going there for the first time. Looks like a "water" day without and taxi's to get us to the beach.

We were in Grand Turk in May. We got off the ship @ 7:00 am. Just outside of the cruise center and past the gates, there is a guy who rents golf carts. We rode the golf cart all over the island (it's very smaill). $80 for the day - seats 4.

Governor's Beach is beautiful and alot quieter than the beach at the cruise center. We drove into town. Honestly not much to see - not your typical bustling port. We were chased by a pack of dogs and saw lots of animals (horses, dogs, cows, sheep) just roaming on the streets. It was fun, but it's not something we'd do again.

The water is great for snorkling and the beach at Margaritaville is nice (not as nice as Half Moon Cay though) .

    Enjoy!

I am back from my cruise and we had a great day at Grand Turk.

We walked off the ship and through the cruise center. There are several stores right here in this area for souviners. These stores are like the Del Sol store and other beach stuff. There was a jewerly store there as well. I am going to have to get out my cruise port map to be more specific.

To the left was Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville. This giant pool has a swim up bar and lots of room to swim and walk around in the water. There is a flow rider right off the pool area and was fun to watch. Just beyond the pool and flow rider is the beach. This was a nice beach and if you walk to the right, facing the ocean you will quickly come to Jack's Shack (I believe). The beach goes on for a while and many people said that there was some good snorkeling there.

We were in St. Thomas at Coki beach the day before and decided on renting a poolside cabana for the day. It cost 99.00 total. This gave us a nice area just off the pool area and Flow Rider. These come equipped with a busser and the waiter will come and take your oders when push it. The inside has a table and 4 chairs and a ceiling fan. It was great for us to eat lunch there. There were two lounge chairs on the open porch outside and we were able ot have some sun and shade. The cabana also has an open outdoor fresh water shower which was great for rinsing off.

The bathroom facilites at Margaritaville were spotless and very air conditioned. We were very happy with our day at Grand Turk.
