Norovirus hits the grand princess, per the captain:

We have been informed that Norovirus is currently circulating wideley throught North America and we suspect that the virus may have been inadvertently introduced on board by embarking passengers. We have see an increase in the number of reported cases of gastrointestinal illness which are strongly suggestive of Norovirus.



Mike and I are fine. Still having a good time. Just thought you would like to know the above. We were just informed at dinner tonight.

I hope Hanna and Mike are still Noro. free. It sure would be a bummer if they got hit with it.

We are now home and fine. On the last day of the cruise, the dreaded virus was almost gone. 1/2 of 1% per captain at that time. All buffet lines and coffee, water, etc were being served by the staff. Hand sanitizers everywhere. Urged us not to use the public restrooms. I had a conversation with captain a couple of days after the announcement, and he claimed it was brought on board by a passenger. I'm not sure how he knew this, but that's what he said. He was all over the ship inspecting it!. Very concerned and very diligent in making sure that it was handled properly.
