Hi Julie!
Glad the cruise is everything you were hoping it was going to be. Two little tricks to minimizing your on-line time. First, compose your post in notepad or word before you log on. Then all you have to do is a quick copy and paste. Then get back off-line!
As for reading the posts, that is a bit harder. I found that if I go to the threads I wanted, and copy and paste the whole thing into a local word processor I could read them at my convenience off-line.
Anyway, keep enjoying your cruise! Don't worry about us but take plenty of notes for when you get home!

Thanks for the tips Neal. I had worked out that the speed is much better when in port. We're currently in Naples. Barcelona was fantastic. We caught the hop on hop off bus and wandered around Las Ramblas. Next was Monte Carlo which was truly amazing though very hot. They had alot of water spray in the outdoors cafes which was really welcome. We caught a local bus for only 1 euro and went up the top of the hill to the museum then caught the little tourist train to see the palace and casino.
Next day, yesterday was Rome. This was the only ship tour that we have booked. Rome is so vast and incredibly beautiful, however, like most cities around the world it is plagued with grafitti which is so sad.
Today was Naples and once again we shared a taxi and had a tour in airconditioned comfort. It is such a contrast for the others place we've seen but very interesting.
Lars will be pleased to know that Princess smoking policy is much more liberal than RCI. You can smoke in your cabin, half of skywalkers nightclub, small areas of the wheelhouse bar and explorers bar and the scooner room (I think that's what its called thought I haven't been there because thats all smoking - cigars and pipes as well. There's also any area by the pool and outside on one side of the promenade deck - sorry can't remember port or starboard
Next is Corsica and finally Gibraltar.

Julie - thank you for the smoking update

One day in Rome doesnt justify this city so I guess you just have to come back and join us for the Star Princess October 29 2010!! (Its Rome to Venice via Greece and Turkey)
What tour did you do in Naples??? Around the city or did you venture out to Pompeii, Amalfi Coast??
I miss I taly, I NEED to go back very soon. I swear I used to be an Italian in a previous life
Looking forward to your report on Corsica - Its a very interesting island, and Gibraltar!!

GONE CRUISING - BRILLIANCE OF THE SEAS
Hi everyone. Sadly tomorrow is our last day. It has certainly gone so fast. I cannot praise enough the excellent quality of both the staff and food on the Grand. Tonight I had Crab, prawn and avocado following by Aspargus and smoky bacon with a Hollandaise Sauce. For main Lobster Tails and Jumbo prawns and desert was the most amazing Chocolate Pudding YUM!
I think I may have a serious drinking problem! Not only do the waiters (in three different bars mind you) know my drink - they know my number and greet me by name! I don't need to get my cruise card out. At the Captains Circle cocktail party the waiter came straight to me and said "You'll like this one Julie. Its got Vodka in it!" My mum is convinced I've become an alcoholic.
I've only got a few minutes left on my plan so I'll answer any questions when I'm back in land - so sad.
