To answer your question, we only really had proper English afternoon tea twice on a ship ...the real deal with the white gloved waiters on QE2, & the Chocoholics buffet tea on Arcadia. We usually (see post about eating too much on cruises) hit the buffet if we miss lunch & this is about what we think of as "Tea Time".

To get back to the question, yes, I always attend afternoon tea unless I am on a full day or afternoon trip.

At home I have dinner at lunch, tea at dinner and supper if I get hungry later on in the evening. Don't you just love the English language

High Tea -- Low Tea -- Indonesian Tea -- Royal Durch Tea -- Afternoon Tea -- Cupcake Tea -- no matter what you call it -- we no longer attend -- the time for us just work out with early dinner time -- too much food in a short time.

We have only experience Afternoon Tea twice, once on a Nile Cruise & again on the Grand Princess. We did not attend every day, this was dictated by what we were doing on any particular day and whether or not we had eaten at midday.
So far we have never come across High Tea.
