    RSVP Charters QM2 for Gay/Lesbian Cruise - 2007

This is a press release from Travel Agent News website...

    8th April 2006

RSVP Productions, a travel and events marketing brand of PlanetOut, a major media and entertainment company exclusively serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, said it signed an agreement with Cunard Line to charter the Queen Mary 2 for an all-gay and lesbian transatlantic crossing on May 29, 2007. The charter sailing will include events in both New York and London pre- and post-voyage. RSVP's business model is as a value-added travel specialist specifically tailored to gays and lesbians, includes land tours in Ireland, Thailand, Peru, and a resort in French Polynesia. The company also offers tour and riverboat vacations between Prague and Budapest, and small ship cruise vacations on the Royal Clipper. In addition to this QM2 transatlantic crossing, RSVP plans to offer other large cruise ship itineraries for 2006 and 2007, including the Mexican Riviera, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean and Alaska. Thanks for the post. Never have considered an all-gay cruise before, but that's just me. Interesting to see that most major lines are open to the idea.

They are also chartering Freedom of the Seas sometime in 2007 too from what I was reading on another press release last week.

QM2 doesn't seem to be selling too fast - nor do the rest of the RSVP cruises - but then again the prices are just outrageous.

Thinking that PlanetOut has bitten off more than it can chew...
