Hey, thanks from me, as well. Gee, that'll teach me not to look around for a week!

I'm pleased to see that it's not just a list of roll calls - there is actually some GLBT discussion.

Do you think that's one of the problems with having an area of the board just for GLBT? There are very few cruise related topics that wouldn't be as at home on the main board as they would be here. Most topics would actually get more attention on one of the main boards than they would here.

What topic could you choose to have here? Which line offers the best cottages? Excuses for being discovered in a crew member's cabin? What time can you reasonably expect you steward to need to be up in the morning to start work?

If we take sex out of the equation then there's very little to talk about

(I'm not wanting to upset anyone, just to explain why I can't think of a topic)

Ah, Malcolm...I think you have a point....

But there are times when we all want to relate to someone who 'gets it.' There are travel concerns for new cruisers, there are the possibilty of a second roll call, which gives some cruisers a greater level of comfort....there are the "tell your favorite story" type threads, etc. You and I, and from what I know of Joey, don't necessarily need a separate forum, but I still think it might have value to some, especially as this board grows...

The Cunard area seems unique to me in its all-out acceptance of GLBT...well, certainly the "G" part, anyway...on the CC Boards. Not as true for other lines, though.

NO Doubt.. I agree.. there are some that will feel more comfortable communicating with like minded individuals... I dare say that once again that philosophy is not exclusive to the gay or heterosexual cruiser.. I think that is more the trait of HUMAN Cruisers........

We always like to hang out exclusively with "fun people!" See, I like to be part of a group!

Just as I think it's foolish to assume a 'bond of brother/sisterhood,' I think it's equally silly to pretend that there might not be some common experiences. At the very least, I'd like to think that some of us 'role model' a comfort level here on these subforums that allow others to be more comfortable on board. And certainly our behavior on board would indicate that as well, I hope. It's just that sometimes you need a private forum or gathering to have the 'modeling' be effective.
