Thread: Houston-Galveston transfer??

I am looking at booking on the Conquest for the 2/13/11 cruise. I will book the cruise direct with Carnival but buy my own air. What are my options for getting two adults to Galveston from Huston Hobby airport?? What does a cab cost to go this 45 miles?? Do the motels in Galveston offer shuttles?? I would still need to get back to Houston after the cruise so a motel shuttle would not help there.

We usually cheat and drive to Galveston since we live in Dallas and have family in Lake Jackson who can shuttle us to the ship terminal.

Anyway, I have heard some good things about Galveston Limo GALVESTON LIMOUSINE SERVICE, INC. - Galveston, Texas
and the price looks pretty good checking out their website. The Ships dock only a few blocks from downtown so getting to the ship should not be difficult no matter how you get down there. Most of the hotels offer free shuttle service to the port.

Personally I feel that a stay in Galveston takes you back in time to the early 1900's at a lot of the hotels. I personally like the Wyndam, Wyndham Tremont House Galveston Hotel Entertainment, Amenities & Activities, but I am a sucker for the old style architecture.
