We are looking into Hotels in Galveston to stay in before our Cruise, and was wondering if anyone has ever stay at the Harbr House Hotel. Any info would be appreciated,

Just found this, not sure when you're going but if this is still relevant please contact me. I have a former classmate from back in the day who lives in Galveston I can contact him and get his 'buck-three-eighty'----don't 'cha just love what inflation has done to 'two cents'??!!

Tried to get a reservation there for our last Galveston cruise just over a year ago, but was unable to do so. Our pre-cruise weekend schedule had landed on Galveston's Dickens Festival weekend (early December) and they were booked solid. Have heard many good things about the place, though.

I haven't been there, but have talked with people over time who say it is the greatest. I wouldn't hesitate to book it.

Here's the answer I got from my friend in Galveston:
"A very nice to place to stay. They remodeled last year and had a Chamber of Commerce open house. Was very nice. Within walking distance to cruise ship but still approximately 4-5 block walk. I've always wanted to stay there. Somewhat pricey I think."

In Case anyone is interested, We did stay at this hotel in July 2007, and am planning on staying again, July 2008.

It is a nice hotel. It is in the PERFECT spot, to watch (if you are there early enough) to watch the Ecstasy leave on Sat, and watch the Conquest come in on Sunday Morning, Before you board, for your week long wonderful Cruise......

This is the hotel, that the Harbor Cam is located, where you can watch the Conquest....

The price is about $215 a night.... BUT to park there all week, you can pay additional $20.

You drive over the morning of your cruise, leave your luggage, Drive back to hotel (NOT FAR AT ALL!! (like 2 driveways away) ) Park your car, and Walk... VERY EASY WALK...

When we returned to the pier at the end of our Cruise, the Porter took our luggage to the hotel For us. It is that close.......

WOULD definitly stay there again, it is right on the water, next to the pier, Heart of Downtown, shopping, and all the restaurants..... PERFECT Location....
