How many months of the year can you swim at Galveston Beach - that is, if you are NOT a polar bear?
It depends how cold/hot you like your water. In the summer, it feels like a hot slimy bathtub, so I prefer a POOL!
Here is a page with the average monthly water temps for the western Gulf:

They show the temps ranging from 59 -87, but in the summer, with the sun shining right on it, the water feels much hotter.
