Hey Lisa and Texed, imagine meeting you guys here I just found this website. But it doesn't look as well organized...or as well visited as the other....

Anyway...we are going to be joining y'all on the Galaxy at Christmas along w/our two DSs, 20 & 16.

to our roll call !!! I'm here for the icons! No seriously, this forum is an upcoming place. There are some folks who have been migrating over from cc. This place is overall more friendly. I've had some posts removed on the other forum because of some critical thought postings. I took the time last week to research and write out a post, send it and it disappeared into the cyber beyond. :frustrate They need bigger servers for the traffic they serve.

Here is another Galaxy tease for you...

this is the Grand Foyer...sorry no Christmas decorations in the pic. Guess it gives an idea of the sparseness.

    Talking Nice!

Does the compass at the top actually work? That would be cool if it did!

Lisa, do you have certain pictures you know you want to take before you board? Pics you make sure to take each cruise...or vacation? I keep thinking I should come up w/a rough storyboard before the trip so I can put together a cohesive video/album after.

Our Explorer group (for 2007) has started our own thread at http://www.frappr.com/exploreroftheseas12232007 This is a really cool site. There is a map with locations and photos of everyone. Icons aren't as neat...but check it out. I think you will like it. People are posting pictures they have of the ports we will be visiting as well as their families. Check it out!:comp_surf

Compass huh? I have no idea, good question. Ed what do you think?

As far as pictures go, there have been some interesting threads about this over on the other forum. On the 12 night cruise last year I took over 2000 photos. Traveling with a laptop, each night before or before bed, I would download and then delete the reallly bad pics. Then after we get home I begin whittling them down.

I do not plan out what photos I am going to take, it is a little bit intuitive. I wish last year I had taken more photos of the Oasis Cafe. I took waaay too many photos of Gatun Lake, but just deleted a ton of them.

The big thing for me is to always have my camera with me. You do not always know what is around the corner. Late afternoon there were always a bunch of waiters and waitresses gathered at the end of the Sky Deck. Never did I have a clue what they were all up there for until the day I saw them getting the sorbet out of the coolers and put out on the trays for their poolside parade. Had my camera and began taking photos and of course they began hamming it up for the lens.

Another time, one night after dinner, our waiter asked dd what she wanted for dessert. She said, "nothing". So that is EXACTLY what she got. We all had a great laugh and now great memories.

Shipboard photos without people in them, are really tough and usually involve waking or boarding early. I got some nice shots of the swimming pools by getting out early Christmas morning.

'cause you never know when there will be "a moment". The other big thing to keep in mind, is that with a digital to are able to take an unlimited number of photos.

The frappr site looks pretty cool. Dh and I used to live in the same area of Jersey where Wilma (The Bedrock Bunch) and Eddie (Down The Shore Guy) are from. If you don't know already, ask Eddie why they say "down the shore".

Wish we could join you all, looks like a fun group, but my Mom is afraid to sail out of New York...seasickness... Dh and dd don't have their school schedule for next year yet either So cannot make plans until we find out whether they will have off until Jan.7 or have to be back sooner. We pushed out luck this year, dd's principal did not want to give him a personal day for the 22nd. I had visions of him having to fly to Tortola and meeting us there on Saturday

Anyone else joining us? Seems to be a very quiet cruise. The ship is not that BAD!

Unhappy I wish I was cruising in a week

I am looking at Galaxy, but not until early 2008.
I've sailed twice on Mercury and she fits me like a glove.

Please tell us all about your cruise when you return.

Come and join in all the discussions at the "X" forum too.

I've got a couple of polls posted too.

Help us to make this forum grow.
