which hotel is better:
Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port Hotel
or Courtyard Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port ?

how do these hotels compare?

Either of these are fine - after all, it's just a one-night stay.

You might also want to look at the Marriott and the Embassy Suites.

I've only stayed at the Hilton Marina or Embassy Suites. I like both.

The Hilton and Embassy Suites hotels are closer to the port, within walking distance, while the two you mentioned Sofia are further away from the port, but not that far and you must be driven to the hotels. They are used for pre and post cruise stays.
Other good hotels near the port are Hyatt Pier 66, Rennaisance Hotel.
