Need to get from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami

We are flying into Ft. Lauderdale and sailing from Miami. Has anyone ever used SAS Transportation Services (www.ridesas.com)? I was searching transportation options and saw where someone had used them and had a good experience. They are inexpensive... wondering if anyone here has ever heard of or used them? Trying to spend as little as possible... the flights and baggage fees are already killing me!

Not sure if this was the right area to post this or not, so feel free to move it to a more appropriate thread if necessary!

Are you coming in early or the day of?? If you are coming in the day of sailing what time do you arrive??
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

We are coming in a day early, and planning on staying at one of the hotels right down by the port.

Jen, we have flown in to Ft. Lauderdale (Southwest does not have bag fees) then hopped down to Miami for a cruise. We originally had a limo booked but they showed up late (can't recall the company) so we ended up taking a cab with another couple who we met on the same flight. The price of the cab was about the same price as the limo.

The least expensive way to do it is to rent a car. They have shuttles at the airport in Lauderdale to the car rentals and you can drop it off at the car rentals near the port in miami and the car rentals have shuttles to take you to the pier.

Interesting Sue. So you literally rent the car for an hour. I see it as being a bit more complicated, though than just renting a taxi. You have to load the shuttle to the car rental, the car and the shuttle to the pier.

Neil, do you remember about how much the taxi ride was total? We have a family of four... SAS charges $13 a person (except for my youngest, he's only $10)... so it would be $49 each way. Would a txi be cheaper or more expensive?

The car rental is an interesting idea too... but does sound a little more complicated.

Jen. I think it was $80 total so between four of us it was $20 each. I think your method might be a bit cheaper.

A car rental could be $40 each way.
