    Port Everglades~Ft. Lauderdale

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

    Port Everglades

    Sue,

Is this port as crouded as Miami. We will go out of her next spring. Miami is very busy but organized. San Juan is less busy but not as organized.

Oh no, not at all!!! I love Ft Lauderdale. The airport is awesome and lots of taxi's outside to go to the pier. If you come in a day early, and staying at a hotel, there are phones with a direct link to most of the hotels for a shuttle to pick you up. There is a long table next to the door to go outside in the baggage area. It has all the phones to the hotels on it. No charge. Make sure the hotel you pick has an airport shuttle, and it's free. Maybe a 15 min wait. The port is smaller than Miami, but plenty of ships and efficiently run. When you leave the ship, there are plenty of taxi's and vans to take you to thr airport, without calling one!!

I agree with Sue...........while I like both......I think Ft. Lauderdale is much easier, both boarding and debarking.

My vote is also for Ft. Lauderdale. The airport is so much better.

The port can be crowded at times, but it is still better.

Talking Fort Lauderdale and the Port

And if you are driving to Port, you can pay $69 on valuetrips.com for a one night stay at Amerisuites, right by the Port, and park your car there free while you cruise!! It's like they are paying you to stay there!! Free shuttle to the Port, 5 minutes away!!

Seems Heaven's a little closer in our home on the sea!
