    Getting to the airport FLL

I have heard that the Taxi Scramble can be wild and woolly at the terminal. We were going to just pre-book a Limo. Is this a good idea, and can you recommend a Limo service? TIA.

I use private transfers for myself and for clients that want them...

Limos are expensive...been there done that...not really worth it.

The company that I use is for Travel Agents though...

We have never had a problem getting taxis in Ft Lauderdale except for one time when our cruise ship was docked at terminal 22. The taxis were all being grabbed by the RCI people at 24 before the taxis could make the loop to go around to 22.

We've never had any problems securing cabs at the airport or the pier in Ft. Lauderdale in the many many times we've been there.

In fact, twice we've had a party of 10 and it was very easy getting a van both ways without prior reservations. We talked to several until we negotiated a price we felt was fair, since most of the vans do not have meters.

The airport is only 3 miles from the pier, so taxis quickly turnaround and come back to the pier - it's sort of like a feeding frenzy! Average cost is $12 each way per cab, whereas private services or limos are much higher.

You won't have any trouble getting a cab.

So let's say we are paranoid and don't have a lot of time to spare and we WANT a limo or private transfer, do you have a recommendation or advice on setting it up assuming we don't know our disembarkation schedule. I'm a rookie at this. Humor me. LOL

We chartered a bus once for a group, but we've never used a limo since prices run about $65 - $75 each way versus $12 each way by taxi. We could never justify the high cost for a 3 mile ride and we've never had any clients rent one either.

I'm sure someone on here can recommend a limo service.

Trust me you won't have a problem getting a cab. Just stay away from the ones that are Vans. A) they charge more, b) they won't leave until they have a full van. A cab costs $10 to the airport and that's with tip for the bags!

There are many, many taxi-cabs at Port Everglades, in Ft Lauderdale, and there is no mad scramble, contrary to what you have heard.
Tri-County Airport Express is an option if you want to arrange for them to pick you up at the port and take you to nearby Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood Int'l Airport. Phone #:800-244-8252, or locally: 954-561-8888.
