    Question Fort Lauderdale Parking Garage

I've looked at various sites and maps but still can't seem to get a clear picture of just how long a walk it is to the terminal from the garage. We'll be on the Maasdam and I read somewhere their terminal is closest to the Midport garage. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

It would be just a couple of minutes walk.

But I will tell you for our last cruise we used the ParkNFly lot (it is located between the port and the airport) and have decided to that from now on at Lauderdale.

You drive in,(they will direct you to the area for cruises, park your car then the shuttle comes right up to your car. Load in and then you are taken right to the terminal for whatever ship you are on. When your cruise is over you call them and tell them which ship and in short order there is the shuttle to take you back right to your car. And it is cheaper than parking in the port garage. You will be given a card with the space number and phone number to call plus your parking ticket.

Thanks, Nancy. That was helpful... we had thought of using the ParkNFly lot but wondered if we'd have a long wait to be picked up after the cruise. If you plan to use it again, that must not be a problem.

I'm looking for the hotels that let you park free when you stay one night in Ft. Lauderdale. The Amerisuites used to do that (and we could get a room for $69 online) before they changed owners...I don't know if they've gone back to it. Was really great especially if we were taking a 2 week cruise!!

I know that Sue listed another hotel on here that also does that...I think by the airport...so I'm in search as we have a cruise coming up.

    Hi!
I see you're from Ft. Pierce...so we are neighbors!! Glad to meet you! Sure wish we had cruise ships leaving from Ft. Pierce!! That would be great!!

We like to go down the night before the ship leaves and kind of start our vacation early...especially if we can get free parking for the week just for staying one night at the hotel...makes the stay free or the parking free...depending on how you look at it.

How long have you lived in Fort Pierce?

We've lived here in Indian River Estates since '85 but lived in PSL for 5 years before moving to our house.

It would be nice to have cruise ship in Ft Pierce but they would have to a lot of work at the port and in the inlet, which the Fort Pierce city council sure would not go for.

How long have you been in PSL?

On our last cruise we met a couple from Jensen Beach and at dinner one of the couples we ate with were from St Lucie West.

    Hi!
I've lived in the Stuart, Jensen Beach, PSL (now) area for 25 years. We live east of US 1. We lived on the island previously and last moved to this home 8 years ago...luckily before all the hurricanes hit!! We're so fortunate to live so close to a Port, aren't we??!!

Yes it is so nice to be so close to so many cruise ports. We keep looking at cruises from Tampa, as we would not have to pay for parking, our daughter lives in Plant City so we could go there the night before and have them drive us to the port and pick up.

Hubby has decided for now he doesn't want to cruise from Canaveral. Not really sure why but since we enjoy Lauderdale it is fine with me.

We've only gone out of Lauderdale and Miami, well, other than Honolulu. We do love to go the night before the cruise...get the vacation started early!! That's why we like the hotels that offer free parking while you cruise! I think the best deal is still the Amerisuites even though I've heard they charge for parking, just less than at Port. I'm going to call and find out what they charge now or if they still do. Since you can get a room there for $69 online if the parking is only a few dollars a day it would still be worth it!
