Thread: Taxi availability from Port Everglades to airport

Is there plenty of taxis available and waiting at the port (Everglades) when departing or do I need to arrange to be picked up at the port?
We will be going directly to the airport when we depart the ship.
Our ship is suppose to dock at 7 am but I read somewhere that passengers don't depart right away? Does anyone know when
passengers usually do depart? Our flight is late morning so I am
curious.

Even on the heaviest port days (we were there on the busiest day so far in recorded history last December 23), the taxis are amazing. It's only 2 or 3 miles to the airport. You should not have any problem catching a taxi and it's generally much cheaper than cruiseline transfers!!

Tammy, take what Sher(localady) mentioned about the taxis as gospel, because that's the way it is. Same at the Port of Miami. I don't know what time disembarkation starts though.

From the Port to the airport it is litterly 2 left turns. LOL I've gotten a cab both times I've came into Port Everglades. Stick with a regular cab and not a van that can fit more than 3 people. The vans charge more and for 2 people plus bags the regular cars cost $12 and that's with the tip incuded. Time from the port to the airport is less than 10 minutes max.
