    Freighter Travel

Has anyone here tried cruising on a cargo ship? If you have what ship was it,where did you sail to and would you recommend it to others?

    Thanks

Several months ago, we had a member post that he was going on one of the freighter cruises. He or someone else posted some links for info on how and where to book one of these. Does anyone recalll that post and/or do they have the links? I just tried doing a search and keep coming up with nothing.

    Thanks,

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

He hasn't been here for a while, a very dear friend died and he isn't over it yet, his priorities changed that were important to him!! I still hear from him now and then. He sent me a poem that I posted on the Holiday thread for the troops!!

Thanks Sue, I have searched for his review too, but amunable to find it.

I can certainly relate to his loss. My closest and dearest friend for over 30 years passed away and I know I will never get over it. I just have to deal with it and contiue in the best way that I can.

I hope someone can point us to his review. A friend of mine is very interested in the freighter travel info and am sure she would find his review interesting and informative.

Met a man once on a cruise who had done several frieghter cruises with his wife.

They loved it. He said that you have to be prepared to stay in some ports a short time and others a long time depending on the cargo. Also you have to make your own arrangements to get around as you are in the freight docks. Now with all the new regulations since 9/11 I don't know how you can do this as taxis aren't allowed in many of the ports.
