Jim, we did Le Havre and the Normandy beaches in 2003 as part of the European capitols cruise on the Oosterdam! I can highly recommend it. The American cemetery at Colville-sur-Mer alone will take your breath away! Also the visit to Pointe du Hoc (Rangers) is awesome! Visited the Allied Museum in Arromanches and had lunch at the American golf club! Again, do it if you can!

Thanks JP...........I think we are going to do this for 07...........I'm sure I will have plenty of questions..........did you cruise or just go over there as part of a trip?

Jacqui...........are you thinking of this cruise? Of course it hasn't been released yet and won't until June of 06.........but we think this is the one.

We have been discussing Europe for

2007. It will probably be the end of August- September. Rudy owns his parents home ( they are deceased)in Belgium and I have relatives in Holland with tourist/vacation properties that I can use at no cost. We would fly in and stay for a week (Holland-Belgium-Luxembourg-Germany)and then do a cruise and come home. He turns 50 earlier in that year so we have been planning/talking about this forever.

There is ton of history there not to mention the great food and hospitality of the people. I lived there for 12 years...that is where I met Rudy and got into the import business.(lol..I imported him...it's our little joke)

Hey Copper, what's a dutch speaking person doing in CA? I guess the same as my hubby huh? Ja, ik spreek, schrijf en lees algemeen bechaafd nederlands.

Ik ben in Holland naar school geweest. Maar ik spreek ook verschillende dialecten van Belgie en Holland. Ha, there you go!!!

We still speak dutch/flemish on a daily basis. I guess it's good too keep it going. I also do some german. Tell me about yourself ....now I am really curious.

Friet met mayonaise to be exact!!! Rudy and I moved back here (he immigrated)in 1984 and became Canadian a few years later. He is from Maldegem (vlakbij Brugge). My Dad's family is from Zeeland and Mom's from Limburg. Hey, I just made homemade Belgian Waffels met verse fruit en slagroom last weekend. We still eat very European. Lekkere bradworst met rode kool in the winter. OK enough about the food. lol at the "pattaten vreter"!! Your dutch still reads well....good for you!!! Tot later
