Since we fly to sail we find more almost livable fares going to Canaveral, Tampa and Ft. Lauderdale. Fares to Miami have been ridiculous the past couple of years and they are dragging Lauderdale's fares up with them. The long ride from Orlando to Canaveral tends to be costly.

As for the ports themselves I like Ft. Lauderdale then Tampa and Canaveral. Miami has just become too much of a hassle.

We've cruised from Miami, Ft Lauderdale, Port Canaveral and Tampa. The later two we drive to and spend the night in a hotel that offers free cruise parking and shuttle service to the ship. Our next cruise is actually a B2B out of Tampa. This time due to time constraints we will drive to the port and park. I hope it's easier than what's been mentioned here!

Just sailed out of Miami again. Twice. Security is simple, customs was quick (both times), and it only costs $24 to get a cab to the airport.

Even check in was simple. We stayed at an airport hotel for $90 and took a cab to the airport. We had a side trip to the grocery store for Dr. Pepper and even with that the cab fare was only $60 (cost per mile not a single fare)
