Cozumel, Cancun, and Playa del Carmen have unbelievable damage.

Daytona Airport is closed.
Kissimmee regional Airport is closed.

Yes, it sounds as if we won't be porting at Cozumel for a long time!!!!! What a shame, it's one of my favorites.

Finally some good news...

Puerto Costa Maya has escaped unharmed from Wilma. The cruiseship dock has no damage and they are accepting ships that would have called at Cozumel. The dock is running at 100% and the surrounding areas are all fine.

This may sound tactless, but it's a legitimate question...

After a storm like this, do prices for vacations in the areas in question go up or down? It would seem that it could go either way...up to make up for the damage and down to attract tourists. Does anyone know?

At least with places like Puerto Costa Maya being open and running, it will bring vital income into the area, I don't think Cozumel/Cancun are that far away from there, it seems to have survived due to being around the other side of the penisular.
