We have decided to stay in JAX for 2 Nights before we sail on Fascination...what should we do? We haven't not decided on a hotel at the moment, but we expect to be around the airport area.

Not much to do in Jacksonville and there's really nothing near the airport. The airport is about 12 miles from the cruise pier and takes about 20 minutes.
Our daughter lives there (she's in the Navy) and we fly down there on a regular basis to visit.
If you have a car or want to rent one, you could drive down to St. Augustine or go to the beach. Downtown Jacksonville is nice, but not alot of things to do other than shop around and see the sites.

What about Jacksonville Landing? That looked interesting. We might rent a car.![]()
That's in downtown Jacksonville and as I said, nice place to visit for shopping, eating, and visiting.
If you're flying into Jacksonville, you really do need to rent a car - look at Advantage car rental - they usually have the best rates there. Love the airport - small, not busy, and easy to get through security. They've been busy over the last year remodeling and they've done a nice job.
If you do rent a car, as I mentioned, you can drive down to St. Augustine. If you're golfers, there's the PGA place down there that's interesting. Nice beaches from Jacksonville to St. Augustine.
And if you want a really great meal, look up Metro Diner in Jacksonville. It was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives on the food channel. We ate there and it's absolutely wonderful! Only open for breakfast and lunch, so they close about 2:30, but I highly recommend them.

All the Jax cruises go to the Bahamas.
Personally I like the Sea Turtle at Jax beach. I had several places that I used to like but I have not been there in 20 years so I am probably out of touch. Jacksonville is built on both side of the Sl. Johns riverand most of the attractions that are not at the beach center around the river. The River Walk is nice as is Jacksonville Landing. Definitely get a car, that is the only way to see Jacksonville and to venture to the beaches. You have to go over some of the bridges. I don't know how many of the old bridges remain but they are interesting. And the new (15 years!) Arlington bridge is very pretty.
