    obligatory ratings

There is something very wrong when people rate
the ships facilities for children when they are traveling without them.
(I presume the reviews format obliges the reviewer to rate every
category, but THIS MAKES NO SENSE)

Most rating forms provide a N/A, but I agree; if they don't, then people who have not used the services should just leave the rating blank. Can't rate something you didn't use.

CFL does NOT have the n/a when doing a review and won't accept if a rating is left blank. Agree, Ralph, it's a problem.

Yep---that's one of the things that will eventually be changed. Patience is the keyword.

When you calculate the overall rating you would have to discard the N/A's

Very true, Char. As you are explaining, Tim is aware of this and has explained getting it changed may take a while.

In the meantime any considering doing a formal review and don't have a child along can ask fellow pax with children how they like the youth program. The bad thing is the time of year and longer lenght of time we normally cruise there are almost no children on the ship.

I was on a Carnival ship once for a Thanksgiving cruise where the time it took in line to sign children under 12 in for the kids program the first time was dreadful ... over an hour's wait in line. A woman I'd met while boarding saw me walking down the hall and ask me to please hold her place in line while she took her child to the restroom. Other parents told me later in the week their children had always loved Camp Carnival on other ships ... but not on this one.

Bottom Line: If I'd done a formal review, I would have given the Children's Program a low rating ... and think it would have been all right for me do have done so.

Definitely a NA option should be available. In our case, we don't usually use the casino so it doesn't make sense for me to rate those. Or art auctions. So I hope that gets changed.

I would agree, rating anything you have not used or experiences makes no sense. Just pass up the slot,.
