What was the earliest you began taking yours on cruises with you?

At which age was the earliest you've taken any of your children/grands on a cruise with you?

    Too young? Waited too long?

I took my youngest Grandaughter when she was 2, also a grandson 5, another grandson 8, and another Grandaughter 11. The youngest did fine but stayed close. Was intimidated by all the people but as long as she was close enough to me to touch she was fine The crew was absolutely fantastic to all of them. Everything the little one wanted, cut up tomatoes, apple juice, and sliced black olives were waiting for her in the dining room for dinner Then she got her meal.
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

I put 2 to 4 years even though my girl went on her first cruise, a 3-dayer, at exactly 23 months of age. The reason we picked that time rather than wait a week was that we were going to drive down to San Diego right after the cruise to see the tall ships.

The girl enjoyed her cruise and San Diego. She charmed the waitstaff, got lots of attention. She enjoyed the production show. She behaved very well.

The earliest we took either of our girls was 5 or 6.

By then they could cut up their own meat and take their own showers. They didn't need naps and were able to handle a more flexible schedule.

I was back in the 80's when the kids programs were not as extensive at they are now.
Our daughter was 7 the first time. we took her again at 10 and 13.
When she graduated college, we sent her without us.

My youngest granddaughter was 18 months when she sailed with us. She LOVED it! Especially all the attention she got from the wait staff and the escargot
