    Family Reunion Cruise

We are considering having our next family reunion on a cruise. Have any of you ever done this before and can you suggest the best cruise line for this? Are there any pitfalls that we might avoid? Is a week at sea just too much time together with your family?

Mike - We did this and had a great time. Just pick a big ship!! Then you can always escape if you need to. We did RCCL. They gave us a little party up in one of the lounges during the day when no one was around. We also got a group photo. We had about 40 people on the cruise and didn't know most of them before the cruise. It was fun running into people we knew all the time. We also had a huge cheering crowd when we did kareoke. Never did find out if we were actually any good....

We have a small group of family going with us next month. I just didn't know about a large group like that. So you pre arranged the party with RCI? Did you just tell your TA and they set it up? Did they charge for this service? What was provided at the party? Did you have any other organized group family activities?

That was part of the whole thing since we were a large group. How small of a group are you talking about? My next cruise is also family. We will have 14 people! I originally planned to go for my 40th birthday and invited family to join me. We had some stray issues in between when I invited people and now but now it is back to basically being a family vacation with my birthday thrown in. Is it worth it? Good question. Couple months ago I probably would have told you not to do it. It really depends on your family. I will have to let you know how this one goes, particularly since I am doing most of the planning. I really should become a TA!!

We did a family reunion cruise back in '02 on the Victory. Well, it wasn't really a reunion. More of a get-together. But it was still fun. We had about 30 people go.

Same answer here..... you have GOT to be kidding!
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Someday will be Princess Happy Mama
