    Kids on a cruise

Do you mind them, or do they interfere with your relaxation?

As Tones indicates...it's definitely a "lifestyle" choice....

I don't mind children on cruises if they are well mannered and aren't over-running the ship. We saw them at the ping-pong tables and when we were playing, they waited patiently for us to finish.

However, when they are unruly and poorly mannered, then I feel like wanting to push them overboard. There were many teenagers who we watched ruin the pool tables because they were goofing around and weren't respectful of others around them.

We don't mind them at all...........in fact 2 of the last 3 years I have sailed during Easter break and never encountered any problems.........maybe I've just been in the wrong part of the ship at the right time

Now this is just us - being elderly and never having had children, we prefer to choose cruises where the possibility of children is minimal. We have had a couple of bad experiences years ago when the children took over the entire ship.

I'd rather cruise during the off season when their all in school.. I don't mind them when they behave and I can put up with a little mischief, after all they are kids.. It's the parents I blame the most.. They're the ones who let them run wild, so they won't be bothered and can have a relaxing cruise.. I also think the ships should have a 10:00, or 11:00 curfew for those 14 and under..

I take my kids and grandkids, but they do behave, they do have respect!! I also blame the parents when kids run wild. Rules should be set up before the cruise, not as they are running out the cabin door. Consequences should be known, and implimented. I let them know the dangers on a ship, mine know if I am embarrassed, they will NOT enjoy the rest of the cruise!! They cruise with me as a gift, so they usually hang out with me to keep the gifts coming!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Oh god I guess I am a horrible grump! I go out of my way to choose cruises where there aren't many kids. When they do cannonballs in the pools is messes up my frozen margarita with the little umbrella...

I'd prefer there to be few kids if any and those that are there should be well behaved. I would avoid school holidays if possible.

I don't mind kids. I have two ones under 10 though, but then I have never taken mine on the cruise yet.
