Hearing what the kids think about cruising:Taking the Kids

What's not to like? The way the kids see it, a cruise ship is vacation heaven, better even than a theme park.
There's all the food—and free room service. "You'll be stuffed when you leave," says 11-year-old Matthew Moris.

The problem with this article is that it paints a picture that kids (I know she's referring to teens here, but I imagine some parents will miss that) can run around the ship unsupervised. I think responsible parents will set limits for their kids.

Patty, I saw this interview live at Cruise 3 Sixty. I didn't come away with that impression as the younger ones stated that they were with their parents when they were not in the kids program. However, I understand your point that some parents may miss the fact that the columnist is referring to teens.

Thanks for sharing of this info, so I suppose that everything still depends on your mood during cruise... and of course, the people you traveling with

I have seen children of all ages running free on the ships. On my first cruise, there was toddler that kept running down the hall with only a diaper on. This his eight or nine year old brother would chase after him. On the other hand, I saw tons of kids being supervised by their parents. My children were with me or at Camp Carnival at all times.
I teach. So, I see this all of the time. Children and parents are different. You will see all types. The same children that run around the ship unsupervised, are probably the same kids that run around Walmart unsupervised.
