    soda cards

When you have children with you do you buy them the soda cards? I bought one for myself the last cruise I was on, but I wasn't really sure if I drank enough soda to even break even. We are going to be on a 5 day cruise. Does anyone know the price of the card or the price of a soda? I am trying to figure out if this is a good deal or not.

Are there any beverages that we can get free on board? Where would we have to go to get them? The soda card was very convenient. It was just a sticker on our sign and sail card. They tried to prevent us from sharing, but they couldn't tell who would drink the soda after they walked away. It was just that the person with the sticker had to order and sign for it.

My kids would probably only drink 2 or 3 sodas a day and less on the days that we are in port. I can't remember if people use them at dinner or not. I know the milk on the last cruise had a funny taste to it and I KNOW my girls wouldn't like it.

Let me know what you think.
    Thanks,

On the last Celebrity cruise I went on its 5 dollars per day so 25 dollars for your cruise. Considering cans cost 2.00 each its a good deal IMO. The only problem we had was the soda was terrible so I didn't use my card much.

They usually have lemonade, punch, iced tea, water, and sometime pass o guava (sp). All of those are 100% free. They also sometimes give away soda but not everyday.

If you have any more questions shoot them my way.

The different cruiselines seem to offer soda cards at different rates, but I'm guessing most of the time, these are for fountain drinks, rather than cans. Also, you usually have to get them at a bar; the dining rooms don't honor the cards. So if you are using a soda card, make sure to stop by a bar first for your family's sodas.

Some people have reported problems with barstaff reluctant to give these drinks as the drink and tip are already taken care of, and they often favor drinkers who are about to pay. But other people say they haven't had any problems.

For our last couple of cruises, we've brought on our own sodas as I prefer Pepsi products. We didn't have any problems at all doing this on Princess.

The soda package on RCCL and Celebrity is $4 per day for kids and $6 for adults. That is per day and is available on embarkation day for the duration of the cruise. The cargs are good in the dining venues also, but not through room service.

It's good to know that you can use them in the dining room on RC and Celebirty.

On the 2 night Celebrity Century cruise I was on last month(January), a soda card was $10, ($5.00 per night). Didn't bother with it though.

I think the soda cards are well woth the money. I buy one for my kids, but they are really hyper on the ship. I don't know if it is the cruise or the cokes. LOL! So, I think my kids might stick to juice this time.

    Hello.
I am new to the boards

I think that soda cards are great onboard. I tend to drink quite a bit of fizzy drinks anyway, so I would definitely spend more if I brought all my drinks seperately.

I think that all the soda/cocktail/beer and wine cards are great if you would normally drink enough to warrant the daily price.
