My first and 3rd cruises were with my parents. My 2nd cruise I was "escorting" my Grandparents. All 3 cruises went fine and I enjoyed all of them.

If my parents were alive, I would definately take them on a cruise I think the experience would be fantastic and the opportunity to travel and spend time together would be fantastic, especially if you do not get to do much with them as. A good family vacation with parents and grand parents would be so amazing.

We did take a 3 day cruise a few years back with my father in law. (mid 70's)
Also on the trip were a couple brothers in law and a sister in law.
We made it clear ahead of time that we may or may not hang out with them.
We said that the only thing that was for sure was that we would have dinner together. We ended up having every meal together and had a great time.
