Wine in the cabin

I am still confused about having wine in our cabin. We will sail on the RCI Briliance of the Seas. We plan to purchase our alcohol on the ship. If we buy 12 bottles of wine in advance, can we have it delivered to the room? If so can we open it when we want and drink it where we want? I am guessing the answer is no. If no, and if we open the bottle in one of the restaurants can we take any wine remaining in the bottle to our room? I just can't seem to get a handle on all these stupid alcohol rules. Thanks in advance for your help. Lee :thumb:

My DH & I don't really care to use the MDR while cruising (except on formal night) I am concerned that we will leave our potential table mates waiting for us on the other nights, particularly before Formal night (we cam warn them that we most likely not be back). Can we go to the MDR when we board and ask them to tell our table mates not to wait? I would like to think we would remember the first night but primary the reason we don't use the MDR is that we lose track of time (too much fun & no watches allowed!) and end up in the buffet when the hunger pangs hit.

For some time now, I have been lamenting the elimination of Chilled Cucumber soup from the royal Caribbean Menu. It was my all time favorite.

Carnival still offers it, but, unless the chef wa having an bad time the night they offered it, theirs is really sub-par: it was room temperature, tasteless, and as thin as water.

*HOWEVER*
I now find that all may not be lost, after all!
On the Emerald Princess last week, I found a real treat: *Chilled Pumpkin Soup.*
It was really, really yummy!
During the main course, the waiter came to ask how my sallops were, and I replied "They are fine, but the Pumpkin Soup was much better. So, he brought me another bowl of soup, at which point, I surrendered my remaining scallops, which was most of them.

Does anyone else find the Chilled Pumpkin Soup on Princess just wonderful, or am I in the minority?
